How to Customize Your URL in Binder
Create a custom Binder link using your company, brand name, or any preferred identifier. Your custom URL can be up to 100 characters and can include the following characters:
- Letters (a-z)
- Numbers (0-9)
- Dashes (-) and underscores (_)
Steps to Customize Your URL:
1. Upload Your File: Start by uploading the file you wish to share via Binder.
2. Click 'Create Link': After uploading, click on the 'Create Link' button to start the link creation process.
3. Select the Group: Choose the group with whom you want to share the document.
4. Set Custom URL: Under the 'More Settings' section, locate the option to add a Custom URL. Here, you can define a custom word or phrase for your link's URL.
5. Create Link: Once your custom URL is set, click 'Create New Link' to finalize and automatically copy the link to your clipboard.
Notes:
- The URL field cannot be left blank when customizing the link.
- Users with edit permissions can update the custom URL even after it’s created.
- If you modify the custom URL, the existing link is updated, but all visits and metrics stay linked to the new URL, ensuring seamless data tracking.
With this feature, Binder gives you full control over how your file is shared, making it easy to keep your brand visible while maintaining secure document access.
How to Add a Custom Button in Binder
1. Upload Your File: Start by uploading your file to Binder. After the upload is complete, click on the ‘Create Link’ button.
2. Choose Your Sharing Options: Select the group you want to share the file with, then apply Binder’s multiple access features to ensure secure sharing, such as setting passwords or expiration dates.
3. Access More Settings: Under the ‘More Settings’ section, click on ‘Add a Custom Button’.
4. Customize Your Button: Enter the text you want to display on the button, and in the ‘Button URL’ field, insert the link you want users to be redirected to when they click the button.
5. Create the Shareable Link: Once everything is set, click on ‘Create New Link’. The shareable link, now with your custom button, will automatically be copied to your clipboard for easy sharing.
With the custom button feature, Binder provides enhanced flexibility and engagement for your shared files. You can add personalized call-to-action buttons, directing viewers to a specific URL, giving you full control over the user journey while keeping your document secure and interactive.
