What are Contact and Groups?

Learn how Binder.so allows grouping access and analytics by contacts and organisations

Log into your Binder.so account and navigate to the "Contacts" tab on the website.

Understanding Contacts

Every individual who visits your documents is recorded as a 'Contact'. For each contact:

- Link Visited: You can see which links they've accessed under your shared file.

- Analytics: View detailed metrics about their engagement, such as time spent on specific pages, overall time, and more.

Working with Groups

Groups aggregate contacts based on visiting the file. For instance, all visitors from when selected a group will be placed under the same mentioned "Acme" group.

- Viewing Group Analytics: Click on a specific group to view aggregated metrics for that entire group, giving you an idea of how an group as a whole is engaging with your content.

- Understanding Group Composition: Within each group, you can see a list of individual contacts (i.e., specific people who has accessed your content).

Customizing Groups

- Manual Grouping: If Binder.so doesn't automatically group contacts the way you'd prefer, or if you want to further customize, you can manually create groups.

Note: In Binder once a group is created you cannot rename the group.

Interactions and Insights

- Filter and Sort: Use filtering options to quickly identify which contacts or groups have viewed specific documents or engaged most frequently.

- Notifications: Set up notifications to be informed when a contact from a group accesses a new document.

Tips and Best Practices

- Consistent Check-ins: Regularly monitor your Contacts and Groups to stay updated on who's engaging with your content.

- Utilize Group Insights: Use the aggregated data from groups to tailor your content strategy or outreach efforts towards specific organizations.

Troubleshooting

- Missing Contacts: If you expect to see a contact but don't, ensure they've accessed one of your links. If they have, and they're still not showing, reach out to Binder.so support.
